How do you curl curly hair?

My hair is curly, with loose curls, but it dosen't always stay in nice curls and it usually limps down. I want to do curls in my hair but how do I do it? Should I straighen my hair first and then curl it? Or is their a way I can curl it when my hair is in it's natural state? I've tried hair curling products that you use after you take a shower and etc. but I don;t want to know about any products. I just need to know how I can curl my hair if it already has curls.

The largest curling iron ( 1 1/2 inch) for structured curls. Use on dry hair only.

It will give you big bouncy curls and volume, but it will sit nicely, not in different directions.

Umm... people don't usually curl curly hair. I say get a good hair wash and go to the hair dresser. That's the only one I'd trust with my hair.

You could get a perm.

Just get spray gel and use a diffuser on your blow dryer.

straighening your hair first and then curling it is always an option, and it is sometimes nice because then you can do different types of curls.

Out of the shower, (i know you said no products) but use a curl enhancing creme and put it in your wet hair. Use a diffuser on your blow dryer and your hands to work your hair's natural curls in to beautiful, bouncy curls.

Good Luck!

How do you curl curly hair?

Use your regular shampoo and conditioner. Special shampoos can damage your hair sometimes. After you get out of the shower, dry your hair. Now, straighten it with a straightener. After that, use a curling iron to curl it. It's kind of annoying and time consuming, but that is how you get the best-looking curls.

How do you curl curly hair?

Pantene makes a really good "curly" line of products that's what I use and my hair has chemically relaxed and I still get really good curls when I use it. I just put it in right when I get out of the shower and scrunch it and it looks really good. Also if you haven't had a trim in a while you might want to consider it because I had the same problem it felt like my curls didn't want to hold and I got my hair trimmed and they looked phenomenal.

How do you curl curly hair?

I have curly hair as well. And I curl it all the time.

If you want a wet look use gel and apply it all over ALL over and then use hairspray and apply ALL over as well it will feel really gross at first but the end result is what I call Crunchy hair It looks really pretty

If you want dry pretty curls Use rollers. It wont always look pretty towards your scalp so I suggest you use a straightening iron to straighten out the top after wards use some type of frizz ease serum

experiment with different stuff and see what ya like! :]

How do you curl curly hair?

Take some of the natural curls that you want tightened up and take a curling iron that has a barrel about the size of your curls (tiny curls = like a 1/2 inch or so barrel, ect) and wrap your curl around the barrel (aka, don't take the barrel to the roots then pull the hair in it straight - just start at the end of the hair).

Hope that made sense and helped!

How do you curl curly hair?

blow dry your hair(doesnt have to be perfectly straight) and then curl it with either hot curlers or a curling iron

How do you curl curly hair?

Ahh it took me forever to learn how to curl my curly hair!

Remember less is more don't use a lot of products in your hair because it weighs it down and gunks it up.

Grab some Bio-silk or Frizz-ease a round brush (choose the size of brush according to the size of curls you want) and a blow dryer. It takes awhile but it makes your curls look awesome and have that CurlyQ look.

Take a section of your hair brush it out, the wrap it around the round brush.

use the blow dryer to just dry that part of your hair.

Once its dry and you unravel it from the brush its soft and bouncy and has a pretty tight curl

After you have your hair all done lightly spray it with a flexible hold hairspray or a glosser of some type to keep the hold and to keep the frizziess away and there ya go.

I hope my answer is not to confusing good luck! It works well for all hair types especially well for thick hair.

How do you curl curly hair?

I am a hairdresser and your question baffles me. First of all if your hair is already curly yet its limping out why not try some product to keep the curl in? Are you opposed to product? Or are you possibly asking how to go about curling your hair into a style instead of letting it take its natural course and be "no style" curls. The question of straightening your hair and then recurling it has me a bit confused as well. If your hair is an unmanagable curl ...why not blow dry it out some and use an iron to style it. Remember, product can protect your hair if you're flat ironing it and product can help curls to have retention if you're using a curling iron or hot rollers. I do hope this helped some.

How do you curl curly hair?

I have super curly hair and this item is what works in 2 mins %26amp; easiest for me....can't live without it. I learned that if I use a hairspray while the curlers are IN...they last longer. Also enables you to go straight the next day....Works if your hair has been dry all day, so either wash night before then curl in the morning.
