Suggestions for Naturally curly hair....?

Any suggestions on new hair styles I could try? I have naturally curly hair and have been wearing it in a ponytail, I have bangs in front that I curl with a curling iron...I used to use Rave Mousse for my hair but disliked how it turned my hair in to a hardened mass of curls...I am now using a frizz reducer which seems to be helping... I have worn this hair style for about 12 years now and could use a change...

Don't straighten your hair it's too much hassel and it just messes it up....Besides there are tons of people that have straight hair that want curly... the best advice I can give you is if you can get an even hair cut with subtle layers in the front of your hair no shorter than your chin. Also I use the suave mousse that 99cts (purple with the green label) I use it when my hair is wet and it doesn't make my hair hard and rope like as the rave mousse does infact after 5 or 6 hours it gets really shiny and nice. Also when you untangle you hair in the shower once you get out and towel dry just brush right through it with a comb but do not allow the curls to frizz up and when you put alot of mousse scrunge your hair with your palms so your curls can get bouncy goodluck...

First of all, I pity you. I also have that same naturally curly hair but mine is naturally curly and thick! So I know what your dealing with. I also have had that same style until I kept trying different stylists and found one who actually helped me. I still wear my hair in a ponytail when I don't need to dress up, but on the days that I do, this is what I do. I wash my hair with a shampoo that helps with breakage, condition it with something that has Vitamin E, then comb it out (with a large tooth comb) then put in a leave in conditioner(anyone will do), then scrunch it, spray with spray gel, blow dry til it's just damp and your done. Just a piece of advice, bangs with our type of hair isn't the best way to go, it just makes our hair worse. Also remember, the shorter our hair, the more it will poof out so it's best to let it grow out.And go with the curl, don't fight it trust me you won't win, it's better to just go with what you got. As for straightening it, it's OK but you won't get perfect results. It looks good until it gets wet, but the best straightener to go with is a ceramic iron. Good luck, I hope all of this helps..

try straighting it for a day, if you like how it looks, than you can keep doing it, if not, try finding a new styling product that might shape your curls differently. even try braiding your hair when you get out of the shower and taking it out in the morning. the curls are really pretty and a different type of curls.
