Very Curly Hair?

My hair is very very curly and I rarely straighten it because it just looks brittle when I do. I have worn the same hairstyle for years because it looks alright that way. The thing is I am bored with it. Anyone have any ideas on how I could wear it differently. Its length is midback. It's all one length, and I have bangs, Right now I wear it parted to the side and a lil puffed on the top. People always like to play with my hair and they tell me how lucky i am to have it but its a nightmare to try and find a style for it. Oh, one thing I wont do is cut it because it took me years to get it this long.

when its wet, use a whole buch of straightening balm or serum,(drugstore) and then braid it really tight. That should give it a different look.

you can use a curling iron to make some more relaxed ringlets.

If you dont mind curlers at night, use those twisty curlers. it will give more definition to your curls.

since it's long, maybe you can try frenchbraiding it around your head. if your a hippie person you could put flowers in the braid.

when you say puffed on top, do you mean feathered or do you mean those poofy bangs of the 90's. either way, get rid of them, or grow them out b/c you are definately living in the past. Those types of bangs detract from the face and make you look like a hick. no offense. just answering honestly

or if you do indeed love you're 80's 90's bangs, then I'd have to say, wear a funky side ponytail.

Just get it layered and use Infusium 23.

I say grow out your bangs and maybe put a few layers in it!! I love curly hair to.

It will continue to look brittle unless you get it trimmed. You could always get a straight perm and trim your ends or a different kind of curly perm.

I think you should get it layered but keep it long! And maybe some blond highlights too! Or light red.

I have fine, curly hair. I wear mine above the shoulders, parted to one side and no bangs. I also have it layered so that it doesn't give me a triangular shaped head. (flat on top and full at bottom) This style seems to work the best for me.

Here are a few tips I think might help. I have simi-curly hair and my stylist puts chi products on my hair to give it a silk look and shine to my hair when she straightens my hair. Also there are products like Sunsilk Shampoo and Conditioner that gives a brittle look a silk look..Or find something that has Meadow Foam Oil in it. That gives a healthy sexy-looking curly hair, even when you straighten it. If you don't want to cut your hair because it has taken you a long time to get it to that length, try long layers. It wont take the length away at all, just extra body

I'm african. I have the curliext hair you'll ever see. What I do is Straighten it with a relaxer. I found that perming in the US is curling.... What I'm talking about is relaxing teh hair. It will make the hair really straight and you'll have to stay away from water for teh first three days after you've treated it. After thet.. you can wash and blowdry or set it in curlers... whatever tickles your fancy.

If you're like sme women who do not like to put chemicals in their hair.. you could braid your hair. Nowadays you can do rasta or corn rows.... dread locks and weave ons... have fun with your hair.
