Nope.. Try switching shampoos and conditioner. Use the leave in conditioner for curly hair. If you are on a budget, try using the Dove line. Also, when you comb it start from the ends. Maybe sure you wash it every other day. Maybe you are washing your hair too much or not enough. Good luck.

I had a reverse perm about a year ago, [im caucasian]. Anyways.. I was hoping it would tame my hair. Clearly it went worse. After I got it I would check if it grew out yet.. My hair was straight but still frizzy. Anyways..my perm grew out but it totally ruined my hair I used to be able to curly it so nicely with mousse but now its kinked.. and puffier then before.. I have random curls. I dont understand how and why my hairs so puffy. I straighten my hair a few times a week to tame it.. but it still goes pretty puffy. I like my hair straight.. but when it comes to the day I have to straighten it.. im a real pain because I get so annoyed with how long it takes to straighten my hair. It's ridiculous... Im also getting alot of split ends.. please help.. I don't know what else I could do. Sometimes I want to cry I hate my hair so much. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Or easier things to do. Save me from my misery!

I have long naturally curly hair thats is thick and coarse. I am having a hard time dealing with the frizz and severe tangles. I USE SO much product in my hair and nothing seems to be right. I don't know the kind of shampoo, conditioner, styling products - down to what kind of comb or brush to use to make my hair be soft, shinny, lose the severe tangles and frizz. I had the same issue. My hair used to be down to butt and it was curly, frizzy, and tangled.

Here's what I've learned.

Don't shampoo everyday. It will dry your hair out. I shampoo everyother day and rinse it on non-shampoo days. But do use a conditioner EVERY day. One thing that I have found that works great is the conditioner that comes with hair dye. Garnier Fructis has a 3 min. conditioning treatment that works just as well. Comb the conditioner through your hair with a wide tooth comb so it soaks in.

As for styling products...I loved this TGI curl cream that my stylist uses. My hair was so soft and manageable and it had a little hold too. But being a recent college grad with no money, I couldn't afford it. A few cheaper things I found that work well are Aussie Leave in Conditioner/mousse combo. One foam...2 purposes. If your hair is really dry, Garnier makes a leave-in conditioner specifically for curly hair. You can use it as well with the aussie stuff.

Too much product isnt good either..there are a few good products especially for curly hair now, ...shampoo and conditioner and maybe a same product line hair serum to help with blow drying.

A good round brush for blowdrying will help...and dry it in smaller sections starting at the bottom , working your way up..smaller sections make it easier to straighten ..the better u get , the bigger and faster u can straighten it.

You can also consult a good salon about a relaxing perm..it's not the best thing to do but if u are having a hard time with it , it could be an option.

A good straight iron can really help also..but I suggest u get one that is like a brush so u can pull it through your hair rather then a flat iron..

Any good hairdresser can give u suggestions. I did hair for years and I have suffered having very curly hair all my life. I learned how to tame it by practice..I hardly use any products on my hair after it's washed..because I like it to feel clean. but many do because it helps them. I have recently cut alot off to do something totally different and blonde..but I have always had long hair. I hope I was able to help abit.

if oyu dont want to straighten it or use product, there litterally NO hope for your. Unless you blowdry your hair with a highpowered blowdryer with a brush attachement; I have the same problem as you. IT's probably the humidity or something in the air that makes your hair poof.

I use a chi straightener so it makes my hair perfectly straight. THen use sunsilk anti frizz cream, Dove antipoof cream and GOT 2 B shine spray. None of this damages hair OR ozone. But I ALSO use hairspray to help hold a style and keep it from poofing out, which doe shurt the ozone.

Another way to do it without straightening it is to wrap your wet hair all around your head, pin it there, and let it dry like that. Then let it down, it wont be perfectly straight, but it will not be curly. You have to make sure the hair is pinned TIGHTLY and SECURLEY to your hair, but i dont think this technique works to well. You can get it chemically straightened too, then no straigthening or poofying everyday!

My hair is the same. I use a curling shampoo and conditioner like garnier fructise for curly hair. After I wash it I leave it wrapped in a towel for about 15 min to soak up excess water. Then I comb it out and turn my head upside down and shake it loose with my fingers. And then I use Vavoom forming gel (I get it at the salon) Its the only kind I have found that will control my hair but I have to use quite a bit since my hair is so long. Then I spritz it with curl boosting spray (Pantene is good) And it is in a pump bottle so no aerasol to worry about. I dry the underside of my hair with a diffuser a little to keep the wetness off my neck. Then I let the rest airdry. If you have bangs you can dry them with a round brush. I have nice spirally curls all day. And the products I use do not seem to damage my hair in any way. Good luck!

I have the same issue. I however used to straiten my hair until I noticed the damage it did. I have found an inexpensive way to have Less poof. If you live in the South or anywhere that it is humid it's almost a lost cause "sorry". If for some reason you do not live in a humid area I would try Aussies "catch the wave, Taming milk" It is not harmful to the ozone and not tested on animals. I noticed that gel and sprays just make my hair dry and crunchy. This product also does not dry out or damage my hair. Try "None of Your Frizzness" shampoo from Herbal Essences, it smells really good and it works. If you use the conditioner, the conditioner keeps the curl to it.

It also keeps the frizzing down, I know this is a problem for people with curly hair.

OK, first of all, u can't cut curly hair unless ur only trimmimg it!And I know this because I have corkscrew curly hair that when u let it just hang there and dry out, it turns into a monster that's twice the size of Hermione's hair from harry potter. Now my mom also has curly hair, and when she was 12, she cut it short and shes kept it sort, but when she cut it, her hair just permanently stayed a big catstrophy and I wasn't until she had surgery, did her hair actually calm down and that was only because her hair started falling out!!!So never ever cut ur hair short!!!

Keep it curly, using chemicals will just damage it. If you need to straighten it for a weekend or something, have a friend use a blowdryer and a round brush to straighten it temporarily. It'll be a little drier but not chemically processed. Using those straightening/anti-frizz shampoos and gels will help without hurting.

Cutting it shorter will also make it easier to manage, see a good stylist that knows hair - I'm talking salon, not Supercuts. I have naturally curly hair and if the stylist asks me if it's a perm, I get up and leave. Your best bet may be to find a stylist with curly hair, they know how to take care of it!

Some people would die for curly hair just like curly haired people would do anything for straight hair. Once it's straight you'll want it curly, etc. Just find ways to enjoy it the way it is or with some modifications.

Ok, I'm not sure if this is what you need but I have curly hair and I always have problems with it, frizz, dryness, not tame, and hard to handle. So, I learned sooner than not that it doesn't matter what you do, if you try and straighten it with that japanese straighening stuff, your hair will be nasty and dry and some parts may even fall out. It will not be a pretty site. I think what you should try is getting control of your curls.

Instead of towel drying your hair, get out of the shower and ring it out, then place a few drops of citri shine gloss in your hair, brush it out and then let it air dry.

You can also try getting your hair blow once every few days if it's an emergency, then keep it in a pony tail at night and use a shower cap, that way it will hold longer.

Otherwise, just get a good cut for curls, don't towel dry and use a gloss in your hair, use a good shampoo and conditioner for unruly hair, and try and sleep in a pony tail when you get it blown dry. It pays to stop fighting with your hair and start enjoying it, curls are beautiful!

If you are tired of curls there are parlors who does Japanese perm or better called straight perms. Depending on how long you want to keep your hair and where you want to go the cost will vary widely. I would suggest keeping your perms and simply apply a mouse without combing if you haven't already tried that. I loved it when I had those spirals done until my wavy hair came back. I had my hair straightened too. Now I just apply serum to avoid getting frizzy hair.

I always start off with John Frieda shampoo and conditioner its called straight. Then I use his anti-friz serum. Everyone wants to change the way they look. My suggestion is please don't apply any chemical on your scalp or hair as they are tend to damage the hair follicle and make them thinner and weaker. Instead you can try different hair style to look more gracious.

My wife and her other friends tried to straighten their hair and they had lots of hair falling problems after that.

eh. Over the counter wise... I was going to suggest frizz-ease serum. You might be able to order it somewhere. Its by john freida. I've always had pretty good luck with it.

Other than that, I've heard good things about olive oil from friends of mine, but I've never tried it. Put a small, small amount in your hands, rub them together to get it warm, and smooth it through damp hair, but not too much at the roots. Also, try not brushing your hair after its dried, it'll make it go poof more.

You can also use normal hair conditioner throughout the day, just a small amount in your palms with a tiny bit of water to kind of de-frizz. Hope that helps.

If you dont want to straighten then try wahing your hair with a good quality shampoo and conditioner and then rinse in cold water. It makes your hair shinyer and helps remove the frizz.

number one is, to make sure it doesnt frizz go to your local drug store and get GARNIER FRUCTIS SLEEK %26amp; SHINE, i've never found anything that works, but this holds in your curls, and keeps them from being unmanagable (use sparingly)

number two, depending on how long your hair is, part your hair on one side, and the side with more hair, pin to the side, with it still crossing in front of yoru forehead, but not eyes.

your could put it in a half ponytail to show off your curls, and put a nice clip or pins in the back, this shows off your curls

put your hair in a tight bun. leave a few small pieces dangling and curl them with a flat iron. you can put sparkles in your hair, or put small clips on the top of your head, just for "decoration"

Depends what you mean by straightening and how curly your hair is. I have my hair chemically relaxed at the hair dresser about every 4-6 months. It does make it alot straighter but I have to blow-dry it still. My hair is super tight curly. You can have them use an anti-curl product that will lessen the curl if you just want it to be a little curly.

Deep condition your hair for a good 15-30 mins. Rinse it out and then put in some leave-in-conditioner to prevent any breakage or split ends. That's for the external.

Now, for internal...drink plenty of water and take a supplement called Biotin. It's a B vitamin that helps grow hair and nails. It won't hurt you long term because it's a water-soluble supplement and a required vitamin so taking a high dose won't be detremental. In about a month you should see a difference...but keep in mind, everyone's hair grows at a different speed...you should notice less breakage and healthier hair which leads to growth once taking the supplement on a daily.

Two questions: how long, and how curly?

I have short dark curly hair, and I blow mine out straight, but I have seen some really great styles for long hair, and I have actually thought about growing mine out because they are so cute.

One of my favorites is one my friend always wore. She had really curly hair, so she had plenty of volume. If your hair is softer, or you end up kind of flat on top, you can just use some volumizing gel up there to make it so it doesn't look like you have hat hair.

Basically, you just put in some good anti-frizzy gel after gently squeezing the water out of your hair after a shampoo and condition. DO NOT rub your hair, as this will mess up the curly ju-ju, and separate all your curls and make them look frizzy. Take random strands from around your whole head, starting at the crown, and wind them around your fingers with some gel so they are extra curly and shaped nicely when they dry. Just let it air dry, and you end up with a really nice, full, soft head of curls.

If you like, once you have dried it that way, you can pull it back. One thing that looks really nice is a high ponytail with some loose ringlets left down on purpose to frame your face. Don't pull the hair really tight, which will flatten the curl against your skull. Wait until it is dry, and pull it up gently so you have defined curls all gathered up. If your ends look funny, you can go in and put some glossing gell on them to keep them together.

Another thing that looks nice is kind of a variation on the above. Wait until your hair is dry so the curls are set, then take some from each side of your face. Take a good handful on either side, and turn it gently a couple of times, then either pin it or use a barrette in the back. It looks very old fashioned, but also very elegant. I can actually do this one with my hair when it isn't terribly long, and I get compliments on it. The only trick is making sure the barrette is the right size so it doesn't pinch your hair, or make the part you pulled back stick out from your head. Again, if the part in back isn't shaped right, just add some gel and twist it around your fingers, and the curls should come back and lay nice and flat and be soft and loose.

I know I have seen some great websites for styling curly hair, and I recently saw one with directions for every single style. Do you think I can find it again? I just looked, and I have no idea where it is, but if you simply put in "curly hair styling pictures" for a search term, you should be able to google some good ideas.

Alot of "scene" guys with curly hair just mess it up, ususally with gel or hairspray, to get a kind of "bedhead" look. It'd be best if it wasn't too short, not to the shoulders but a little past the ears.

You could also try to just straighten your bangs and pieces of the front sides of your hair and mess up the rest, that way even if it isn't completley straight, it'll look very scene and have that bedhead thing going on.

If that doesn't work though, you could always get your hair permanantly straightened. It's pricey but should last from 6 to 9 months, and its said to not damage your hair.

I use a Corioliss brand straightener I got in the mall for about $70. If you have a place like that in the mall where you can try if for yourself, I reccomend it. I hav ea few friends that are hair stylists and they say that you can't get a decent hair straightener for under $90. Make sure that you get one that is ceramic so that it doesn't ruin your hair. Also, I was instructed to apply biosilk serum to my hair, which you can buy at a hairsalon or CVS, before I straightened my hair. When you apply this and then use the straightener, you will see a little steam which means that the straightener is burning the serum and not your hair--that is a good thing! trust me, i've been straightening my hair for a year and it works. it's a true investment b/c it's expensive, but that's the only way you're going to get the best hair straightener and keep your hair healthy. Plus, it will last for years so you won't have to worry about it dying out on you like you would with cheaper ones that actually damage your hair.

Okay well, you know how you can get your hair permed? There's also this treatment that you can get at your hair salon that's the opposite. It permanently straightens your hair instead. It's a bit expensive, but it could be worth it if it works out for you!

If you can afford to, go to a salon hat uses chemical straightners to do your hair. The Chi system is excellent!! Lasts for months and keeps your hair soft and straight.

There are cheaper ones, I just dont know how expensive they are. Call a couple salons and price shop.

Aussie has a mousse called "Awesome Volume" whenever I want to lock some curl in, I use that. It works great. About cutting your hair regulary, yes it's important to trim your hair a couple inches about 3 times a year, it will also help keep your ends from getting stringy.

Well, you could always go to meijer where they sell this product called frizz. it makes your hair curly and bouncy... not frizzy like it says on the bottle. it stays in for about 2 weeks. if u use it every 2 weeks u'll be on ur way to have permatnely curly hair. but the curls go away with a straightner.

It sounds to me like your hair is getting longer and the weight of your hair is actually straightening it out. You see the ends don't have enough weight and the top rests on your head but the middle carries it's own weight and the ends as well. If you want to keep all of you hair and keep it curly you are going to have to use a curl activator type gel and a stronger mousse or gel to keep it that way throughout the day.

sorry, but a straightener is about all you can do really...

but if his hair is long enough you can pull it back into a ponytail {of even pigtails} while it's wet then let it dry like that.... that should help tame the frizz a little i guess

It depends on how curly your hair is and how coarse your hair is. If it is more fine textured you can decrease the amount of curl by using sculpturing lotion and drying your hair on a low speed using your fingers to pull your hair more straight as you go. If it is more coarse or if the curl is tighter, I would suggest using a sculpturing lotion and drying your hair until it is damp then braid it and wait til the morning to un- braid it. this should leave it wavy. Both of these methods are the least amount of work to get your desired style.

My hair is super curly too, so I feel you pain! Well here is what you can do! Buy a wide flat iron, and get one that is gold-plated, not the cheap target/walmart brand kind, you'll have to go to Ulta, or Sally's, or buy a Corioliss online, maybe on Ebay. These work well for super curls, and they also last long. They range from $30 to $150. Once you have the straightener, turn it on high, put your hair up in a clip, but take about an inch wide strand out before putting the rest up in the large clip. Start from one side of you head, and work your way around. I've found that is easier than doing it from bottom to top. Brush the strand out, %26amp; rub a small dab of straightening cream in it. (911 is good, it helps control frizzing from humidity. You can get it at Sally's) Then Just straighten really well from the roots. After you're done straightening your whole head, put a shining gloss/serum in it %26amp; maybe spray with a flexible hairspray. Trust me, this really works! I have super curly hair!!! Your style should last for about a week, unless you have really oily hair in which case you'd want to skip the shining serum, and wash it as soon as it starts looking greasy. Also you can get you hair blown out/straightened at a Salon for about $50 to a $100 it turns out very nicely!

what you should do is put your hair up, take a layer or two of hair and leave that down, and put the rest of your hair in a pony tail, straighten the peaces that are out of the pony tail, keep doing that until your whole head is straightened. it will probably take a while since your hair is really curly and if you don't have a good straightener.

You should only use shampoo for your scalp.

I think that pic of hair is really cute and stylish. If your hair will do that you should go for it. I have really thick curly hair also, i just recently got mine cut and layered (with long layers) so that the longest layer touches right above my shoulders. I also had my bangs cut so that I can curl them over to the side..because I too have a blech forhead. This haircut is really easy to manage. Just some mouse after the shower every morning and scrunch it a little and it looks good all day. I also straighten but feel your pain in the time it takes to straighten thick curly hair...ask your stylist if the style you choose will be easily managed. Good luck!

Try and see if there is a certified Ouidad stylist in your area. https://www.ouidad.com . They have this method called carving and slicing that works really great on curly hair. I have extremely thick and curly hair, too... and I have found that this method helps to cut each individual curl and not make your head look like a pyramid! Good luck!

Now when I go to a hairdresser I ask them to be creative and give them general guidelines on length. I have thick curly hair too, so I know what it's like. Def. get layers cut. It's easier to manage and thins it out. Also, I think there is some certain, special way to cut hair to make it thinner. Ask your stylist about this. Don't make it too short, either.

And also ask your stylist about what she would recommend for simple, quick products to put on. Products like leave in conditioner are quick and easy to use in the mornings, and they make your hair much more manageable.

And yeah, I think that style would work.
