Don't listen to them! I have curly hair too, and we are the luckiest when it comes to formal hair. Leave it curly, but leave it a little loose and messy, like this:

I say get a perm or relaxer and I'm sure that your curly hair will straighten well with a flat iron.You may want to go to a hair stylist and spend about $15 for them to put a relaxer in and $15 for a straightening and you will look fabulous for graduation,I promise.

Just go to Target and buy a flat iron! Your hair will turn out to be pretty if you flat iron it (well have somebody flat iron it tis hard doing it by yourself) Trust me your hair will be pretty! Hope i helped=)

you could wear it down and put in layers. (thats how my hair color is but my hair is blonde)
