Can really curly hair become straight?

Well, I have really curly hair and I was wondering if it's possible to get my hair to be straight by 'relaxing' it, also known as perm. straight? (straight until your roots grow) Would my hair turn fairly straight? Wavy? Frizzy..? Etc.

Here's what you do. [because those perms are crazy and will ruin and damage your hair and make it fall out]. Get a good hair straightener. I sugest 'Remington wet 2 straight'. Then buy some 'loreal paris studio heat seeker hot straight'. [straightening cream]. put a lil of that cream in your hair and then be sure your straightener is hotttttttt and then straighten your hair. I mean that worked with my cousin and her hair is like an afro because its so curly. Doing it this way will save your hair and money.

if your hair is like super curl,i suggest you to do a rebonding 1st before u go on with relaxing hair.

Perm is not straight my dear.Only the upper area of your hair will be straight while the lower part will be curled.

It won't "turn straight" but you can get pretty inexpensive hair straigtners out there.... having the hairdresser do the perm straightening thing costs a fortune!

My hair is curly with spirals. I have been getting my hair chemically straightened (reverse perm) for the past 4 years. Actually, I just got it done this past Sunday! ALL the poof and frizz leave, and it turns PIN straight. It's a bit expensive, but the results are amazing lol. It's so much easier than having to blowdry and flat iron it every day. The only bad thing is that it gives you a few split ends in the front, so you might want to get a trim after, not before. Umm so yeah, I think it's worth it, just a pain having to sit in the chair for 6 hours!!

just as hair can be curled by perm solution, it can also be straightened. it will last as long as a perm does. but you can do a simple straining procedure with a blow dryer and a good firm brush. hair should be strong. naturally curly hair usually is. straightening solutions are available just as home perms are. but you must be careful not to damage the hair. and the shampoo you use should be the kind that will relax any curls that should occur. you can have completely straight hair if that's what you want. but it will take work, and lots of care. good luck
