My hair is naturally long, dark brown/black and curly.. should I get it straightened?

I have mostly soft curls but sometimes the ends of my hair have ringlets in them. It used to look cute when I was a kid but now my hair is really annoying me. Curly hair is so hard to care for. I want to get it straightened at the salon, but I'm not sure if I should. My hair will be permanently straightened... my roots will grow out curly of course but it won't start to show until several inches grows out.

Don't get it done permanently...trust me you will regret it after...and getting it done permanently can damage your hair...i have lots of friends who have curly hair..and a few of them did jump on the band wagon and got it permanently straightened and regretted it...just buy a str8ner...and str8en it...because sometimes you might want to have curls in your hair and stuff so you can keep it curly some times and straight...play around with your hair I'm sure you can find a cute simple look that will suite you when hair it's curly...

your hair doesnt sound that curly...i say just buy a straightener and some shampoo and conditioner that protects your hair against heat....that way your not doing anything that can really damage your hair...and its nothing you cant undo if you dont like it..........

I used to have long curly hair and straightened it everyday cos I hated my curls. But then my straightener broke and that's when I realized my hair was in really bad condition. All my ringletty curls that I used to get when I was young had turned into frizz. I haven't straightened my hair now for 8 months and my hair is sooo much better for it!

I would say don't straighten your hair ever. Even buying heat protection sprays doesn't make any difference, your still subjecting your hair to 180 degree heat and that is never good! Straighteners are expensive as well, if you get a decent one like GHD they cost 鎷?00 plus, and then they break within 3 years!

I would say go to the hair dressers and get them to recommend a style that suits curly hair.

I know how you feel, I have really curly hair too, and I had mine Chemically straightened and it didn't do a thing for it...Your best bet it just to get a straightener....But hey if you want to try it, and see if it works for you, then go for it.
