I want it "beachy" I love Kate Hudsons hair. I tried using surf hair from Garnier. I put it in my damp hair, braided it, and then blow dried my hair while it was in the braids, and it's not as curly as usual, but it's not at all wavy. Here are some pictures.

i would say fully straighten your hair, then get a curling irion (or if your iron curls as well) and curl it then. it should just have a nice wave after you put some hairspray in

i would try slightly straightening your hair, just run a flat iron over your hair. then run a curling mousse through your hair, like herbal essences. this should help loosen up your curls.

i would blow dry your hair straight but at the part just above your ears i would leave it a little damp and use some mousee and scrunch it.

One of my cousins has the exact same problem but she works with it sometimes and when she desperately wants her hair wavy she just washes it and while it's air drying she uses a paddle hair brush because it straitens hair but since yours is curly it'll end up being wavy. Brush until it dries!! DO NOT add hair gloss or something like that cuz' it will curl your hair again but you can add a little of leave on conditioner for frizz.
