How can I make my ugly, natural curly hair look pretty and straight?

I am happy how long my hair is, but I don't like it so curly. My hair is naturally curly. I am a plump girl, and my hair makes me look worse. How can I make my hair look lovely and straight like my friends. I tried using a hair straightener, but it doesn't really work well on me. I keep my hair clean ALWAYS!!! Can anybody please help me out! PLEASE!!!

I have had straight-haired woman after straight-haired woman come up to my envious of my natural curls. Why would you want to get rid of something so envied and look just like all of your friends? Maybe you just need a new style and the right hair products.

If you insist on getting it straightened, get it professionally done so it looks right. But just try walking around in a suburb mall and look at all of the young girls who look exactly alike with their identical straight hair. They are indistinguishable from each other.

You already have a leg up on them with your hair. Don't give that up!

And I'm a big girl, too. I shop at Lane Bryant regularly. And I love my curls. My boyfriend adores them. You can go to Lane Bryant's website right now and see a lovely curly haired big girl.

I know I've said a lot, but I just hope you can develop pride in what makes you unique and beautiful. :)

And by the way, maintaining curly hair doesn't have to be expensive. I use Pantene for curls, Pantene leave-in conditioner, and a little bit of L.A. Looks gel. I get compliments ALL the time.

none of the shampoos or straighteners work trust me!!

Have you tried blow drying it straight? Blow drying can be damaging, but usually not any more so than straightening (though the effect is shorter lived.) You may also try braiding your hair when it's wet, and seeing if you can force it to wave from the braid rather than being curly.

I am in the same boat as you. I keep mine short, in a shoulder length shag cut, where is flips out at the end. That way, I can wash, blow dry and straighten it out in about twenty minutes! And, if I don't have time for that, ro I am just too lazy that day, then I wash it, put some mousse on it and let it dry. Then I put it in a pony tail, and always get compliments on how cute and curly it is

I also have naturally curly hair. Learn to love your curls! The best products I've found are Ouidad, www.ouidad.com. They are pricey but well worth the money.

As for straightening, I wash %26amp; condition, add a leave-in conditioner, blow dry straight, the use a flat iron. The straight do will last a few days until you wash your hair again. Don't wash your hair everyday. Curly hair is extremely dry %26amp; you need the natural oils to help keep it moistuized. If you have to just rinse or condition daily %26amp; only was 2-3 times per week.

Try a ceramic iron. Your hair is probably to curly for the normal irons. Only use the irons that you can control how hot. And then crank it up =) Thats all I can use on mine as well.

You should try a high quality straightener. Next time you get a hair cut at a salon, ask the stylist to try straightening it. If she can do it with her straightener, then you just have to buy a chi ceramic straightener. They're usually $100 but you can get it much cheaper on ebay or something. Make sure you use a smoothing cream before you straighten it. Or something with the name like straightening balm. Believe me, it's possible. Not with the cheap hair straighteners though.

if your hair is naturally curly, you will be facing an uphill battle to keep it straight. I suggest a visit to the hair salon, maybe take some Friends along, ask their advice for a do that will make you look ravishing. I suggest incorporating your natural curly hair into this look because then it will be a lot easier to maintain and you will be much happier. I personally think long straight hair on a plump physique is not flattering at all, it goes well with tall skinny physiques much better. A good Hair dresser can take your hair and make a unique do just for you to make you feel wonderfull. I hope this helps,

I use a CHI hair straightening iron. It works and looks best if I wash/condition my hair the night before and let it air dry, then do the straightening in the morning.

Then you straighten all over once. Wait for about 10-15 minutes. Straighten all over again. Your hair will come out shinier the second time around.

You can try a Chi straightner, they are usually around $150-200, though. You can buy them at any beauty brand store or a place like Target. They are very good, and they straighten any texture of hair. It's a bit expensive, but you definitely get your money's worth.

You can also try permanently straightining your hair. It's kind of like a perm, just the opposite. Again, it's expensive and damages your hair a lot but worth it if it's that important to you.

One more thing I suggest...try going to the salon and using their advice to gain cute, pretty curls. Just b/c your hair is culry doesn't mean it can't be beautiful! Use your money to purchase products that help control frizz w/o ridding of the natural curl. Just ask your stylist.

And remember, there are some people, I'm sure, who are envious of your curls. I have dead straight hair that will not curl , and I would LOVE to be able to curl it. Good luck!!

I'm a guy and don't have curly hairs. But mine is pretty long plus it's bushy and thick. When it is wet, it looks straight but when it dries out, it just goes bushy and points out everywhere. I have done several things to my hair and now it does not look too bushy and falls down naturally:

1. Use an after shower conditioner, but don't dry your hair completely, aka leave it 'half' wet, and then apply the conditioner

2. This is a pretty stupid idea, but it works for me: straighten your hair when you sleep; just like putting a paperweight to dog-eared books, i'd like to think that my head and shoulders hold down my hair when I sleep.

3. Wake up earlier to do your hair: my hair always looks less bushy at night. So, I figured, I'd get up and take a bath earlier in the morning. And it did get less bushy in the morning

4. Reduce the thickness of your hair. Works like a charm for me. But the one doing this has to know exactly what she's doing, or else, you will get medusa's creampuff hair instead.

Happy trying!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... so i have a friend who's sister has pipe curly hair and uses "Bead Head Control Freak" by Tiji. It comes in a green bottle. It will make your hair shiny and STRAIGHT and SMOOTH. You won't belive it! It doesn't require a straightening iron so you won't have to damage your hair with one! :)
