Hair care for thick curly hair?

i have thick curly hair with a lotta tangles..i would like to know if itz safe to use conditioner everday and shampoo it twice a week.

Get a good haircut so that 'poofiness' is at a minimum. If you don't get a trim, you can get the triangle effect where is the curls just poof out at the bottom. Its safe to use conditioner everyday, I would defenitly reccommend it. Try a leave in treatment as well - AG Fast Food Leave In or try a defrizzing, curl enhancing cream such as KMS Curl Up Cream or Bedhead Curls Rock.

I wash and condition my hair everyday

I know it's bad - but I use a mild shampoo - I have so much product in my hair to "tame" the curls I can't not wash my hair and restyle it

I have thick, curly, knotty hair too. I wash it every morning with Pert Plus....it's manageable. Of course, while washing it, if any gets tangled in my fingers, I just go ahead and pull it out. :D I haven't had a haircut in almost a year.
