Layering curly hair?

is layering curly hair bad? and how long do you recommend? My hair comes down to about the middle of my back or a little lower and I want to get it cut, how much should I get cut off?

i have been a hair dresser for 15 years and layering curly hair is the best way to keep grips on the hair it makes it look great but it should be razor cut not with a scissor. curly hair needs control and some times the scissor doesn't give it to it. i my self have curly hair and i have to cut my own hair because no one can do it right.

I have curly hair too. It's not as long as yours but I have the ends layered. I like that a lot. I have done shorter layers before and hate it. When I let my hair dry on it's own it looked like I was a popcorn head, or a Q-tip.

With the ends layered it looks really nice straightened too.

well any length really i have curly hair but usually straighten it, getting layers well thats possible just tell the hair dresser and yeah if you ont really want curly hair just straighten it.

I have really curly and poofy hair and mine is layered , don't do it! before I straighten my hair it looks like a mushroom!
