Has any of you guys had straight hair at one time and it turn curly?

My mom has real curly hair and my dad has straight hair. My hair is real thick and straight. My sister was born with curly hair but it went straight later on. I know someone who had straight hair once til they were like 12 and it changed to real curly all of a sudden. Has that ever happened to any of you? If I'm 15 now should I be worried that my hair could turn curly?

Sometimes in genetically susceptible people, the action of hormones changes hair follicles slightly, modifying the 'bulb-shape', which if hooked leads to curly hair, and if straight, leads to straight hair.

Estrogen seems to be the culprit, so it is mostly females that this affects.

A few women with straight hair notice changes in their hair after having children, another example of how changes in their hormones can affect their hair.

I have no idea whether males experience changes in their hair due to hormones, excepting a possible slight darkening of colour over the years from birth to adult, though this can be random and is usually based on genetics and incomplete pigmentation development.

Well, apparently if you straighten your hair a lot, if you don't straighten it it will be a little bit straighten than natural. You can try that!

I've had stick straight fine hair all my life, as this runs in our family, especially girls. The last few years(as I approach 50) my underneath hair has turned very very, wavy, but the crown (top part) has remained straight. Hard to find a hair style!
