I naturally have VERY VERY VERY curly hair. so I got my hair relaxed and dyed within a 2 week time span. Then about two months later, the relaxer seemed to be wearing off because it was shriveling up as it had before. So then I got it dyed to the right color and then got it relaxed again about 2-3 weeks later and continued to follow up with the roots afterwards. Now, almost a year later, my hair is still a wreck, as it was then. The bottom 2 1/2 inches have gained curl back while the rest for some odd reason have decided to be straight. [with the exception of the roots i havent done]. I know there is no way to remove relaxer, but is there any thing else I can do? I want my whole head to be curly. It looks horrible as it is now. I need help :[

should i leave it alone? and just moisturize and oil it up.

should i perm it? but im afraid that'll cause even MORE damage

but HELL NO i aint choppin it off. lol

well ok wow your hair needs a rest! Both are chemicals and I don't know much about dye but relaxers use very strong chemicals.

I think that you should stop dying it. For now moisturize it and nourish it. You can continue on relaxing (usually people do it once a month or something, depending on the new growth). When you do your touch-up relaxer, you're really just supposed to do it on the newly grown, curly hair because the rest of your hair is already relaxed. (but my mom gives me relaxers and she does the ends for a few minutes anyway.) Keep ur ends trimmed to avoid split ends, or whatever, and comb them and use a brush over your hand to bump them under. That's how i keep the end of my hair from going crazy.

After your relaxer your hair will be easy to style so put some hair dress or lotion in it and curl it with an iron or those little squiggly curler things.

Also, if you don't have like, African American hair, i.e., if you have white girl hair or "good" hair, make sure you use the kiddie relaxers like Just for me or "fine" relaxers because they're not as strong and won't do as much damage. Also try a flat iron. try using those thermasilk things that work with the heat.

Try straightening the ends every morning to match the rest of your hair. Depending how thick your hair is, it could take from 5-15 minutes, which, in my opinion, isn't that bad. Good luck, whatever you do!
