How can I straighten natural curly hair?

My son has natural semi-curly hair? He hates it and wants it straight. Prom is coming up and he doesn't want to cut it he is growing it long. You know that shaggy look but it looks horrible, unless it is straight. He uses a straightner sometimes, but is there anything else we can use that will straighten it?

he probably cud have it chemically straightened it doesnt completely straighten it but it would make it easier to straighten in the mornings

He can get it permanently straightened

A straightener is your best bet. For a special event like prom, i'd go to a salon and they can do a great job on it! And for guys, it will be inexpensive. If not, then i'd get a straightening cream to add before drying. Blow dry straight and use a straightener. It works best!

You can get it chemically straightened or you can get this product that you put in your hair when it is wet and it will straighten it.

Other than a flat iron, the only other thing you can do is a relaxer/straightening perm. (which is HORRIBLE for the hair!)

I have naturally curly hair.

I use a Sedu Flat Iron (believe me its worth the price)

The best way to straighten curly hair is to:

1- Wash %26amp; Condition (thoroughly do this)

2- While wet, apply a frizz serum/straightening cream.

3-Comb thru with a wide-tooth comb

4-Blowdry

5-Section the hair in 4 parts, then little by little, straighten it...

Good Luck!

Well i have naturally curly hair and i just put perm lotion on and keep combing it for the length of time instead of curlers. works the same as a hairdressers but at a fraction of the cost.

you could get him to a salon to have it professionally treated so it will stay straighten for up to a year. Its kind of expensive but much easier than always straightening.

Theres stuff like that at your local drug store to do it yourself to but they last 3-6 months much cheaper though if he's brave :)
