How to make my curly hair look good?

I have curly, frizzy, long, thick hair. (part Italian)

I usually flat iron in it order to look nice.

I want to be able to do something fast and leave it curly.

What can I use in my hair when I get out of the shower that will keep my curls in place, without being stiff?

I use DevaCurl AnGell. It's fantastic!

It's a light-weight gel. It doesn't weigh down your curls but holds them softly in place. A little more expensive than normal gels but definitely well-worth it! You can get them in hair salons and probably online.

Also a tip, place a couple clips on the top of your hair while it's drying. It'll give you some height so it won't be flat on top and big on the bottom.

And if you're using a hair dryer, definitely use a diffuser (makes more curl, less frizz) and dry from the tips of your hair upward (kind of like a spring) Think of it like a phone wire.. if you stretch it out, it's going to lose it's shape. Work with the natural shape of your hair and you'll maintain the curl.

Firstly get a good cut, with layers in it, that way your hair will not be poofy.

Use John Frieda frizz ease and curl lotion - it will give you soft curls not crispy ones.

If you have bangs straighten bangs only and leave remaining hair curly.

I agree with layers. And get it thinned. I have the same problems, and thinning helps. Use some curl lotion and a diffuser to dry. You might also like some leave in conditioner to make it soft. Try Aussie products, I really like it. I sometimes use mousse, but that does make it kind of stiff. Ok really stiff. You can put it behind a hair band with some bangs to frame your face, or half-up looks good too (with bangs also). Don't worry, if I can halfway tame those curls, so can you!
