My hair is extremely curly... but the stye here demands straight. I spend hours straightening it and it never turns out like i want it to.

Guys- is curly hair a turn off? Does it really matter?

curly hair is gorgeous when properly taken care of (I have extremely straight and admire curly) anyways, get some anti frizz serum and never brush your hair...it will cause frizzing and will puff up ...... also find someone in your area that knows how to cut curly hair(not everyone can correctly)

I'm a guy but my good friend is a hairdresser and this is what I've learned. After you wash your hair you should blowdry it. Once it is completely dry, use a really good flat iron to straighten it. Also, use a little hair wax to control the frizz and prevent breakage. Since your hair is very curly, only wash it once every two or three days.

It probably is very time consuming but I'm sure it's all worth it in the end.

My hair is curly and it has no weight. what I do when I want it straight is to use a product friom Rusk that is like a non permanent straightener and then I just use a sylicon based gloss. Dont touch your hair. Use the flat iron to finish it. Dont touch your hair. At night just roll the hair around your head with bobby pins. Use a cap to sleep. It wont last a week but at least two or three days.

Personally, I think there's nothing wrong with curly hair. In fact, it actually projects personality. Why would you ever want to folllow others. Embrace your natural hair. Someone will admire them. Just take care of them. Make sure they are shiny and the curls are enhanced. Loose curls are gorgeous.

to make the curls better wash your hair then use about three handfulls of mousse and scrunch it into your hair, then using a diffuser dry for a little while or leave to dry naturally i do this to my hair when i cant straighten it and it goes fine.

My hair is naturally curly- like Christina Milians, but I prefer it straight. My guy prefers it curly. I dont think they care as long as it looks good and the style works for you. If your hair is EXTREMELY thick like mine, you really need to set aside about 3 hours or more just to get it straight. First wash, condition (comb while conditioner is on to detangle) and let it towel dry about half way. Then take small sections and blow dry with a comb attacthment or with a blow dryer and a large round brush. The flat iron after all the hair is brow dryed. You may need to go to a salon first, just to get it doen, that way you'll have examples to work off of. Preferably go to a salon that specializes in your type of hair. If you live in/ near a large city, there should definately be hispanic salons/ black salons ect.. that deal with ethnic hair if that is your hair type.

if u really want to have a straight hair and u extremely need it, why don't u try a hair straightening at beauty saloon. because u know wat?! most of the girls here in the Philippines had visit to a saloon just to have their hair straight! my hair is a naturally straight but i want my hair to be curled, just for a change! hehehe..... i think u have to visit saloon than spending time every day just to have a straight hair with an iron. waste of time!

Please don't listen to Molly D. Do not take chemically relaxing your hair into your own hands. I have naturally curly hair and I have always worn it curly. You should find a style that looks great on you, not someone else. I get tons of complements on my hair and am happy to be sporting something different. I too have naturally curly very thick hair. Two options- to get it straight- the Chi iorn is the way to go, as was said earlier. Done right, your hair will look like it was relaxed and last quite a while. just blow dry with narrow nozzel and round brush first.
