Real frizzy, naturally curly hair, HELP.?

My hair is naturally curly, and it is very frizzy. I usually straighten it every day but it is frying my hair. Does any one have any suggestions on what I should do? (My hair comes to my shoulders.)

If you like your hair straight then dont straighten it every day. A hairstyle is suppose to last for at least two days no matter what. If you shower, throw your hair up under a shower cap and don't let it get wet. This way you can go a little bit longer without getting it damaged. If your hair gets very greasy than put a little bit of baby or body power in your hair to absorb the grease.

If you like your hair curly I recommend trying a straightening balm so your hair is less curly and then so it won't go frizzy or anything I recommend using BB Oil Moisturizer with Castor Oil you can buy it at walgreens or walmart or anyother place like that or something else that also works well is the SunSilk for curls their 24/7 cream as well as there shampoo and conditioner.

you could get a straight perm.

The longer your hair is the more weight it will have, pulling yoru hair down and making it a little more manageable rather than a short weightless curl. Also, product: use gel and/or mousse, then scrunch. Instead of fighting it (like I did for ten years) learn to make it the best curl it can be...otherwise you'll do permanent damage. 1) grow your hair out; and 2) use gel/mousse.

My hair is longer but pretty much the same, it gets frizzy, dont blow dry it, or straighten too much, u'll ruin ur hair.

I just wash mine (with really good products, 30 bucks a bottle), leave ur hair to dry naturally after u shower, and shake it a bit as its drying, to let it air out evenly, i find my hair dries in these tendril things and are less likely to frizz up......also u can use some kind of leave in conditioner to help keep the frizz down.

Maybe go into a good salon and ask what kind would be best to suit your hair, Btw, only get good products, nothing too cheap!

I have naturally curly and frizzy hair too. I straighten every day as well. After I wash my hair I put in some "frizzease" serum by John Frieda, then dry and flat iron it. This product really does work as my hair comes out super straight, soft and shiny.

I try not to wash it everyday because that will damage your hair in time. On the days when I don't wash it, I still straighten it with my flat iron and then spray it with some shine spray.

Try it..

Don't Strsighten your hair everyday. I used to because my hair is curly too. Try getting your hair chemically staightened. One of my good friend has hair just like yours. But she stragihtened every day then it looked pretty crappy. She got it Chemically Straightened and then it looked good. If you do that you will have to blow dry your hair every day and if you use a good shampoo it should be ok. Otherwise wear it curly. Sometimes i just let mine go and it looks pretty good. And always use hair spray!

I have the same problem too. I straighten my hair everyday and it was getty really fried. I bought this shampoo and conditoner called Healthy sexy hair pumpkin lotion. It really made a difference. Before I blowdry it I use pantene's restorative lotion, it's an anti-breaking one, and that helps too.

If you want a more permenant solution I would tell you to do Japanese straightening. two of my friends do it and their hair is amazingly smooth and straight. I'm actually going to do it in the summer!

well what can help is a smoothing serum, if you want to wear your hair curly. It really reduces the frizz. I have REALLY curly and frizzy hair too so I know how you feel. If you do want to straighten your hair then use a spray or something that protects your hair from the heat of the straightener. If you spray sections then straighten it, it will be good.

Wow, that's the same with my hair too, almost exactly! Mine comes to my shoulders and is uncontrollably frizzy and curly. Ceramic straighteners work best, especially ones with Japanese names. If straighteners are frying your hair, you can get a formula called Biohair(I don't remember the name exactly), or something like that, and put it over your hair before you use a straightener. Also, you don't want to straighten your hair every day, if you can manage, because even with the formula it will dry out your hair.

If you don't want to use a straightener, you can get a perm at a hair place and this will help you with your hair. Don't get it cut short because the weight of long hair pulls down the curls a little and makes them a little straighter. On rainy days or humid days, your hair will get frizzy because of the moisture, so be prepared for a wet day.

If none of these tips work, you are better off sticking with the curly look. Of course, you can get products to reduce the frizz and the curly hair will at least be in neat curls.

Good luck! I have the same problem.

i have the same problem. i think u should get a perm if u can (i'm not aloud to). what i do is apply tuns of gel to my hair after shower while its wet. then when it dries i straighten it and it doesn't damage hair as much and u can straighten sooooooo much faster!

Straightening your hair everyday can damge your hair very badly. Here are some tips to get health hair while still getting the straight hair that you want.

1.These days, most straightening irons are made with ceramic plates instead of metal. The metal plates caused alot more damage to hair, where as ceramic plates are softer and kinder to your hair.

2.Wash your hair daily with an advanced care therapy shampoo and conditioner for more severely damaged hair. It delivers daily therapy to hair with symptoms of more severe dryness or damage with intense moisturizers that go deep inside the hair.

3.Before applying the heat of a blow dryer or flat iron, work a small amount of styling cream into your hair. This lightweight cream can help protect hair from the damage heat styling tools can cause and creates a straight, sleek look with long-lasting control against frizz.

4.Blow dry your hair with a natural bristle paddle brush then use the flat iron to straighten hair, section by section. Keep the flat iron moving to prevent overheating. When complete, apply a small amount of intense frizz controll.

5.Use a spray shine and spray it on your hair one piece at a time before you straighten it. Use a spray shine that does NOT contain alcohol. They are difficult to find, but they are out there. Alcohol dries the hair, and using one without will preserve your healthy hair. This is especially important if you also chemically treat your hair. The one that I use that does not contain alcohol is Ellin Lavar Instant shine.

6. Make sure that you DO not straighten your hair when it is wet. Also make sure that you ALWAYS put on a protective spray before you straighten it.

- Go curly! Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent. They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof. O:(

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Aussie Moist Conditioner. My combo of products that I use daily is the garnier fructis sleek and shine leave in cream, Tressemme clean hold gel, and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. You're hair may shrink to a shorter length when curly, but since it will be healthier you can grow it out! Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!
