I naturally have really curly hair. However, if I don't use lots of products, it just goes really frizzy and nasty. So sometimes I straighten it with my GHD's. They work so well my hair looks naturally straight. Do men prefer bouncy curls, or sleek straight hair?
I have naturally curly hair-should I straighten it? (men)?
I'm a girl so I really can't give you a mans opinion but I have the exact same hair type from what I can tell. My hair is really wavy so I used to straighten it. I used one of the top straighteners and heat safe cream. This worked great for a long time! But after about a year my hair got really brittle and began breaking easily. I decided that it wasn't worth it and began scrunching my hair. Here's what I do for soft natural looking curls. after a shower I gently squeeze my hair just enough that it stops dripping. I leave it alone for about 10 minutes (without brushing it)..I normally do my make-up in this time. After the time is up I gently brush my hair tilting my head from side to side depending on where I'm brushing so that I'm never brushing my hair flat to my head. I then run my fingers through my hair and scrunch it in my hands. then I use a dime size portion (my hair is a little below my shoulders) of "Beyond the Zone Noodle Head" ,which is a decently priced product available at beaty supply stores, on one side on my hair. Then another portion on the other side, and another on the back. I scrunch it into my hair evenly and then wait for my hair to dry. As its drying I scrunch it every now and then but its a pretty easy hair style and it really doesn't require much work. Once my hair is almost completely dry I run "Garnier Fructis Style XXL volume weightless Gel Strong" through the curls. The Goal is to smooth them not pull them straight. That's about it! I know it sounds like a lot of work but its really very easy. Also, for a looser curl try towl drying (by squeezing hair, not rubbing it) and applying the same Noodle Head product the same way as above. Hair-dry on medium/high heat with a diffuser
attached. Lift the hair gently with palm of hands as you dry
underneath. Let hair drop into diffuser as you dry it with head
tilted to the side you're drying. While drying hair, twist front
sections away from the face with your fingers. Finish by
gently scrunching hair with hands and using a light spray. I hope this helps!

if i were you i would suggest that you not worry what men prefer..just do your hair whatever way you like. your very fortunate to have curly hair that you can easily straighten...my hair is naturally straight but i wish it was curly so i could mix up my style from time to time.

Personally i LOVE curly hair that bounces all the time, but then again the love of life has curly hair so I am probably biased.

Hell no! A guy I used to work with had VERY curly hair, like a perm. He came to work with it straightened one day and he looked like a dodgy 70's glam rocker. Everyone laughed at him hysterically, you couldn't help it. Just go with what your mother gave you. You'll look much better. Be yourself!

The absolute best is a product called Silk Drops from FX Special Effects. You can get it at any Walgreens, CVS, etc. You'll love it!

Hey!!!im not the only one then!! i am a girl with really curly hair i am white tho my hair wud be like not quiet afro but really really tight curls, i found a hairdresser who does chemical straightning of hair and i have been getting it done for 3 years, each 4 months i needed a route re-touch and each time it was cost 鎷?50, its not the dosh but it was so straight that i ***** even put a curl in it and when my roots kept grow back it was really hard as its so curly so i had to always use my ghds on the re-grouth and a wee bit on the rest, as a result my hair is a wee bit broken but not 2 bad so i have been growing it out now for the past 7 months and i cant wait to have the choice of curls or straight again, i hope that it will be fully grown out by xmas so in the meantime i have to use my ghds for a half and hour every time i wash my hair and touch up in the mornings if i dont put my baseball cap on..lol... i wud say to u to enjoy ur curls and mayb just have it straight at the weekend, that is my plan anyhow... also i think curls look younger..if u want any more advice let me no and u can e-mail me.. good luck...
