I have poofy curly hair, how can I straighten and make it flippy?
I have very very curly hair myself! I usually get Tigi's Pin Straight serum and spray it on each piece of my hair before I straighten it. I have a Chi straightener which works fabulous! Between the two you should get great results! Just follow with some anti-frizz serum or pomade and finish up by flipping out the ends with a curling iron! Good luck! :)

try very large velcro rollers..they will take out the curl..but add a bit of body...
also get you hair layered...subtly..it will help it fall better..especially since it's very thick....

I have found laying the hair, is better at controlling frizzy hair, also try the frizz ease, at walmart,, it is good, also a dry iron is good.

you have desicribed my hair to a point. okay first put a alchoal free moisturizer in it and get it baby pressed. the straightener/flat iron will do not much. its all about the hot comb!
the only thing is that the press wont work for long so then try putting a relaxer in it. a strong one.

go to a salon and you can get a japanese straight perm done.
i had poofy hair also so i had this done, and it worked great. it looked like the hair you see on tv for pantene. This lasted for me until my curly roots grew back.

Becareful what you ask for. I too had poofy curly hair and had Rusk anti Curl done a few days ago. I now have stick straight hair. If that is what you want, it works well, you just blow dry it and use one of those ceramic straightening tools. I only wanted to loosen my curl, but it it GONE, LONG GONE. P.S. $44 for rusk at salon.

If possible, you might want to get it chemically straightened. I straightened mine that way as well; it even dries straight after i shower. and it's been about three months since i had it done! or else, relaxers might be an option.

get a rebond done at a really good salon, then no more poffy hair, but remember once you do that there's no turning back untill your hair grows back or you perm it. maybe getting it relaxed wouldn't be a bad idea

i have the same kind of hair. :-) i use the Remington Wet2Straight and it is absolutely fabulous! I also use Paul Mitchell SuperSkinny Serum on it when it's still wet. you could also use a big roung metal barrel brush (they have great ones @ sally beauty supply) and a high wattage hair dryer. just divide your hair into sections and hold them up with a clip. dry one section at a time for best results. if you any questions please feel free to contact me. :-) good luck!
