The flat iron does tend to dry your hair out if you use it on a dalily basis. If you intend on using one I've found the best thing to do is use a shampoo and conditioner that super moisturize your hair, and right after the shower use a leave in conditioner. If at all possible let your hair air dry as much as you can and blow dry what's still wet. They make a great blow dryer with a comb attachment that works great. Make sure your hair is TOTALLY dry or you risk hair damage. Then work in sections with the flat iron to get all the waves/curls out.

Try a ceramic straightener. You can get a straightener that will work on damp hair also and start straightening your hair before it is dry. Don't burn it but slide it quickly over small sections. Be sure and use a good conditioner.

Tip- If you want it to look like you got a wrap, you get a curling iron and add body to it. At the end, when it you are all done wrap it, spray it with oil sheen, and tie it up.

I don't know if you have access to a Wal-Mart store, but they sell this hair tool called "Wet to Straight" that will straighten curly hair. Just shampoo, towel dry, and use the straightener. I haven't ever used it, but have friends who have and say it works. But be careful, they said it makes a lot of steam if your hair is too wet and you might get burned.

the ways to straighten hair is to either

blowdry it while brushing

or using a flat iron...

There are products by Goody (get at walmart) that have other ways u can straighten ur hair by air dry but i dont know if they really work....u can try it its not that exspensive...

if u get a flat iron....get a CEraminc they are less damaging then the metal ones and they heat up in like 60 seconds!
