How do i make my curly hair look longer and more loose?

Ok so , i have naturally curly hair, and it looks like ive curled it with an iron..but i havent its natural..and my hair is a little bit past my shoulders so if i dont straighten it ...my hair curls up into a little poof . and i hate it ! now that my hair is a little longer and layered, they look better but i want them to be looser and i want it to be the same length it is when i use a flat iron

i hate using the flat iron because i love my curls but i dont know what to do to my curls to maek them look nicer ! =[

any suggestions fellow curly heads ?

You could try using a large barrel curling iron. This will give you nice long waves instead of a poof.
