Making Curly Hair Straight - need advice?

Has anyone tried the Matrix Opti-Smooth Hot treatment on their hair? If so, does it work? I have very VERY naturally curly hair and I'm thinking about getting it chemically straightened. If anyone has had it - please let me know what you thought about it.

Oh no, I've seen chemically treated straightened hair and it is NOT pretty. The only way to go is with a ceramic flat iron. Wash, Condition, blow dry with round brush or paddle brush, and start at the bottom and work your way up. I also heard that you should not run your fingers through the section of hair you just straightened (it's tempting i know!) to just let it cool off a bit first. As far as products used to enhance the straightening I have tried them all and i've come down to just using a light leave in conditioner and sometimes i will rub a tiny blot of the yellow cholesterol cream on the ends of my hair after i'm done. (inexpensive in a drug store hair care aisle). After a few years of this you'll learn to embrace your curls!

No. Use Wella Straight Strong.

ive never tried that, but i have had my hair chemically straightened. It does take a while and can be a little uncomfortable. when i got it done, it worked. You could also try a straightening iron. You could also deep condition your hair , that helps restore the damage

well whAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU HAVE HAIR THAT YOU WANT TO BE STRAIGHT YOU NEED TO GET A RELAXER. THEN BY A REALY GOOD FLAT IRON AND STRAINTEN IT. THE FLAT IRON WILL CAOST A LOT BUT THEY WORK THE BEST

use bumpers or an iron....let it get real hot and put it on your hair.....if it don't work....it's not meant for you to get your hair straight

If you have a Regis salon nearby or are willing to have it shipped, I would suggest buying their "Straight Pressed" line.

Do not, I repeat, do not get your hair chemically straightened! I did it to my hair and now it looks SO flat and thin. I'd do anything to have my curls back so I could have the option of just straightening it when I felt like it.

You may not think so now, but I promise you that you'll miss the texture and volume of your curls.

It depends on what nationality you are. I chemically straiten my daughters hair but she is part African-American.

I would not recommend chemically straitening your hair if you are white. If you do use a childs version relaxer that is not so harsh on hair.

comb it or go to the hairdresser
