I have the same hair issue. Be careful.

If you are sure that your hairdresser can be trusted, bring along magazine pictures of styles that you think would be suitable. Talk to the hairdresser before s/he begins. Discuss how its going to look as it grows out as well. Only after you both understand each other, proceed.

Good luck!

Most hair dressers have books with pictures of various cuts for people with all textures of hair you can use that as a starting point then the hair dresser can suggest variations upon the shape of your head and face to make the cut unique just for you.

i was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago. I got my hair cut to about my shoulders and it can go curly and i can straighten it at that length. But if i could re-do anything i would make it a tad longer so i could fit it into a good ponytail. Ask your hairdresser about layers and a sidebang. You would have to striaghten the sidebang alot but it looks super cute!

you can get layers, I have really curly hair too and i got layers, but i got it cut short and i really like it. plus if your hair is thick which mine is layering it help thin it.

You need to bring in a photo of the style you are thinking about getting.

Dont get anyone who is fresh out of hair school !

Dont get anyone who smells like alcohol.

Happend to my husband and he came home with a bad haircut.

I have had my long hair all my life. I wont let ANYONE touch my hair. Its straight right now. I just keep bangs in the front. Sometimes I color it.

I can put in a simple perm.

would be cool if you can go to the shop that has that system where they take a pic of you on the computer and then match hair styles to your face. You will see your face/head with the hair style. normally they will put it on a dvd/disc for you to take home with several chosen styles to decide on. My mom did it, not sure how costly it is. But very helpful

i have long curly hair and i got it cut to about 2 inches below my sholders and then got the bangs down from there like stairs with out the bumps. then you can ether straten the bangs and put youre hair up in a bun or ponytail or you could just leave it down and use some moose or gell when wet and like you know... crunch it up like or grab it all over then it should get some spring to it and be bouncy and NOT frizzy all day! unless it's humid out then you might want to wear it up...
