I'm not sure if these products are available where you live, but if they are you either need Matrix Curl Life or Redken Fresh Curls. They both work on naturally curly or permed hair and they have the shampoo, conditioner and product options to keep ur curls fabulous. You definitely need to be using mousse before you dry it. You also need to use a diffuser on ur dryer...if they call it something different there i don't know what it would be, but it's usually a large round attachment for ur hair dryer. As you dry scrunch your hair. the diffuser will promote the curl and prevent frizzing. I hope u can find something that works...if all else fails your hair stylist will have some suggestions

only use conditioner on the ends or like the bottom third of your hair, and use redken curling products. when your hairs still wet flip your head upside down so your hairs hanging over your head. blow dry just a little bit near the top of your forehead and towel dry the rest. hairspray it a little, run your fingers through with some mousse, towel dry a little bit more, wrap it all up in a towel for a few minutes and then drive with the window down.

This could be one of two things.

I don't know how long and thick your hair is....but if it is...the curl is probably falling due to the weight of the hair. You might want to consider long layers to help bounce some of the curl in. Using a professional mousse or gel....and scrunching the hair as it dries will put some of the curl back in.

The second thing is a little more ominous.....usually when the hair has curl when wet and is straight when it dries...means there is over processing. There is usually no coming back from that other than many deep conditioning treatments to get the integrity and strength back into the hairshaft....and the last resort you would need to cut it all off and start over again. Over processing is caused when the perm is left on the hair too long...or has been improperly nuetralized. It also happens when you perm over already chemically treated hair.

Since I don't know exactly what type of hair you started out with...those are your 2 choices for problem solving this.

Professional products are always best as the don't buildup on the hair as fast and hey are formulated to build strength and elasticity within the hairshaft.

There are 2 important things to remember when you're conditioning....

1. Squeeze the excess water out of your hair before you apply the conditioner. Your hair is like a sponge. If you put a soaking wet sponge on water....it won't do anything because it's full of water. If your hair is full of water....the conditioner will go down the drain. If you put a damp sponge on water....it soaks the water up. The same thing happens with damp hair...the conditioner will go INTO the hairshaft.

2. Rinse the conditioner with lukewarm water. Luke warm to your hands...it will feel slightly cool on your head. If you use very hot water...you will open the cuticle layer and flush out all the conditiner you just put in...back down the drain. Luke warm water will rinse the excess off the outside of the hairshaft....but the inside will retain the what you put in.

Apply a thermal proctectant to the hair prior to blowdrying.

Finally finish with a moisturizing leave-in conditoner. This can be applied to wet or dry hair.

Some suggestions for product:

Loma

Hydrating Shampoo

Hydrating Conditoner

Pearitin Serum

Paul Brown Hawaii

Booster ( Thermal protectant)

You can check with a professional about other lines sold in salons. They can tell you what would be best for your hair.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to trim them.

If you're wanting healthier hair....then read the following..;)

Everyone's hair grows an average of an half an inch a month. If you wait more than 4-5 weeks to trim the split ends off....eventually they break off. When that happens you break off more than the half inch you grew.

However, if you trim the very ends every 4 weeks to prevent the breakage from occuring in the first place...you will keep most of that half inch you grow every month. Combine that with a salon shampoo and conditioner....and you can get 6 or more inches of healthy hair every year.

The biggest trick is finding that special hairdresser than will only trim the very tips. If you explain what you're doing...they should work with you of getting the length to where you want it. The other thing in growing your hair out is to always grow from style to style....not length to length. That way you're never going to be bored with your hair and be tempted to cut it off...;)

Always use professional products, they are formulated to not buildup on the hair as fast and to actually strengthen the hairshaft. There is no magic to getting long hair. You can try all the little concoctions people suggest....but the bottom line is you hair will grow from the root no matter what you do to the already grown hair. Once the hair has left the follicle...it's consider dead keratin protien. You just need to treat it right so it stays looking nice.
