Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

some people who are not of african decent seem to have naturally curly hair, how is this possible when most other races of people have straight hair.Just very curious.Everybody seems to hate everyone who is different and it seems we are all more alike.

Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

I was told curly hair has to do with the shape of your hair follicles. Oval follicles mean curly hair. Round follicles mean straight hair. I could be wrong, though.

Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

Not necessarily. You got all your genes from Adam and Eve.

Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

Do you honestly think that Africans are the ONLY race that has curly hair???

Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

People hate what they don't understand and are jealous of. Live your life for yourself and forget about the haters.

Sing it, sister. All human beings ancestors can be traced back to Africa. We all got soul!

curly hair in white people is a reccessive gene so does not always express itself. It does not mean that you have african genetics.

I think there are a lot of people with naturally curly hair (doesn't depend on what race they are). I am Caucasian and I naturally have very curly hair.

I don't think so.

Many peoples have curl in their hair. Some long and wavy, and others real tight like nap.

Remember that there is only one race of people on Earth-humans.

According to latest population genetics, researchers believe that we all came out of Africa about 50,000 years ago. (At least that was the last major migration.) One of the first placed these people went was Australia (they have curly hair too). Then also settled in India (no curls there), and parts of SE Asia (no curls). Many of those who settled over the islands of the south pacific also had curly hair.

Europeans can trace their linage back to five prehistoric mothers. Of these, few have curly hair except some who settled around the Mediterranean Sea.

So, in one sense we are all of African stock, and on the other hand, having curly hair doesn't always indicate a close link to Africa.

Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

No. Other ethnicities have curly hair without having African blood.

People of African descent are not the only ones with curly hair. Just because you have curly hair doesn't mean that you automatically have African ancestry (look at Keri Russell and Danny Masterson). I've seen some Italians and Jewish people with curly hair. Just be grateful to God that you have any hair! :)
